The City of Circleville acknowledges that it maintains many documents and records that may be subject to inspection and/or reproduction. In accordance with state law and the Circleville Records Commission, the City of Circleville has adopted a Schedule of Records Retention and Disposition (RC-2) for each department. This schedule lists the records that are stored on a fixed medium that are created, received or sent under the jurisdiction of the individual departments within the City of Circleville and which documents the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, operations or other activities of each department. The records and documents maintained by each department and the ability to access them are a means to provide trust between the citizens we serve and the City of Circleville.
The department head or his/her designee shall serve as the custodian of all records maintained within the department. Each records custodian has a copy of the department’s public record policy. (R.C. 149.43 (E)(2)).
Records shall be promptly prepared and made available within a reasonable period time during regular business hours. A poster is displayed at every location in which the public may access City of Circleville records which generally describes the City of Circleville public records policy.
If you are requesting public records maintained by the City Auditor, please visit the Auditor's page to review the Auditor's Records Policy and Procedure and complete the Public Records Request form.
